Collin Anderson continued to provide a spark off the bench, scoring 15 points to lead St. Scholastica to an 87-58 victory over Finlandia in a nonconference game Wednesday in Hancock, Mich.
St. Scholastica (7-7) used great balance, with Jarod Wilken adding 14 points and Brandon Newman and Sam Thompson chipping in 11 points apiece. After a sluggish shooting first half that found the Saints up 36-27, they pulled away by shooting 51.4 percent in the second half.
Myles Ellington had 14 points to lead the Lions (2-10).
• Despite a game-high 29 points and red-hot shooting from Duluth East product Shaq Coleman, Wisconsin-Superior fell 74-69 to Northwestern in UMAC action Wednesday night in St. Paul.
Coleman made 11 of his 12 field-goal attempts and was 7-for-8 from the free-throw line while adding eight rebounds. Still, it wasn't enough for the Yellowjackets (4-12 overall, 2-5 UMAC), who lost for the fourth time in five games. They led 32-29 at halftime before the Eagles (5-9, 4-2) took control.
