Naby Keita ‘playing up’ at RB Leipzig in bid to force Liverpool move - Bundesliga expert

NABY KEITA is now ‘playing up’ at RB Leipzig in a bid to force through a move to Liverpool, according to Bundesliga expert Lee Price.

Liverpool agreed a £55m deal last summer for the 22-year-old Guinea star to join on July 1.

But after Philippe Coutinho's move to Spain, manager Jurgen Klopp is after a replacement for the rest of the season and the box-to-box midfielder is the top choice.

Price is a reliable source of German news having broken news that Keita and Sead Kolasinac were signing for Liverpool and Arsenal respectively weeks before they were confirmed

He also revealed Liverpool's interest to bring the Keita deal forward back in November - a story this week confirmed by Reds insiders.

And now it appears Keita is trying to force the move himself.

Liverpool could move to sign Naby Keita early

“There’s more talk from my sources in Germany today about it happening this month,” Price told Express Sport.

“He wants out, and is starting to play up: isolated in training, stopping German lessons, has become flashy around the club (new cars and clothes), and his performances this season have suggested that he’s already gone mentally.

“Leipzig will ask for an additional fee of around £15m – but Liverpool confident they can get him in now for £10m.”

Leipzig boss Ralph Hasenhuttl today insisted Keita was going nowhere - despite Liverpool’s interest.

”The current situation is that nothing has changed,” Hasenhuttl said ahead of Leipzig’s clash with Schalke.

“We do not have a reason to sell Keita any time before the end of the season. That's it.

"He will play at the weekend against Schalke and hopefully he does well. That's the only thing I really care about.

"I think that Naby wants to finish the season in a good way in Leipzig. He wants to leave a good impression.

"He made many good games for the club - in my opinion I think that he will put everything into the rest of the season.

"He probably wants to do some self-promotion before he leaves.

“He does not want to leave without showing all his qualities since he had some weak games in the first part of the season."
