Prosecutors told the outlet Persaud was arrested following an investigation that lasted more than four months.

While trying to nail down their suspect, investigators arranged several purchases of heroin and fentanyl from Persaud. In total, close to 22 grams of fentanyl and two grams of heroin were exchanged.
Citing prosecutors again, NBC Bay Area reported that Persaud often used others to assist in the delivery of the drugs he sold.
On at least two occasions his girlfriend drove him to deliver fentanyl to an undercover detective.
In March 2016, East Providence police joined with members of the Rhode Island Drug Enforcement Administration Drug Task Force to obtain a search warrant for Persaud's girlfriend's home, which she shared with his three children.

In the house they seized 44 grams of fentanyl believed to have been hidden there by Persaud.
According to the publication, the suspect is facing similar charges in Pennsylvania after being convicted in August as a result of a drug trafficking investigation.
The Lebanon County, Penn., district attorney accused Persaud and a female accomplice of selling heroin to an undercover police officer during the course of a month-long investigation.
The district attorney said they sold 70 bags of heroin to an undercover police officer before being arrested.
NBC Bay Area was told officers raided Persaud and the woman's hotel room and found more than two ounces of heroin, valued at around $11,500.
