UEFA Team of the Year 2017: Shock omission as Ronaldo, Messi and Hazard selected

NEYMAR has been left out of the UEFA Team of the Year, with Chelsea star Eden Hazard selected instead.

Almost 8.8million fans voted in this year’s poll to pick the UEFA Team of the Year, and the governing body has revealed some shock results.

There is a record 12th appearance for Real Madrid ace Cristiano Ronaldo, with the Portuguese star joined by four Los Blancos team-mates.

Sergio Ramos received the most votes with 588,315, while forward Eden Hazard edged out the world’s most expensive player for a spot on the left of the 4-4-2 formation.

Fellow Belgian Kevin De Bruyne is the only other Premier League representative in the side while Gianluigi Buffon, the oldest ever player to make the team at 39, has received his fifth selection.
