Kamala Mills fire: Abhijeet Mankar, third 1Above owner arrested

Abhijeet Mankar, one of the three owners of a Mumbai pub where 14 people died in a massive fire last month, was arrested by the police today.
Mankar's arrest came hours after the Mumbai Police arrested the pub's other two owners - Jigar and Kripesh Sanghvi. The three own 1 Above, a pub in Mumbai's Kamala Mills compound.
1 Above was completely gutted in the December 28 fire, which killed 14 people who were at the pub at the time of the incident. In the wake of the fire, the Mumbai Police filed a case of culpable homicide not amount to murder against the owners and managers of 1 Above.
Later, after the Mumbai Fire Brigade said that deadly fire had broken out at an adjoining pub, Mojo's Bistro, the owners of the that restaurant and bar too were booked by the police.
With Mankar's arrest today, the Mumbai Police has now nabbed all the owners of 1 Above. One Mojo's Bistro's owner - Yug Pathak - too is under arrest while a second owner, Yug Tulli, is currently absconding.
14 people died on December 28 when the fire engulfed the top floor of a building in Kamala Mills. The fire had raised serious questions on the fire-safety compliance of commercial establishments in Mumbai and prompted the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation to go on a high-profile demolition spree.
