Minister to review infra projects

He will also look into issues related to IOC project

Union Minister for Statistics and Programme Implementation D.V. Sadananda Gowda will on Thursday review Centrally funded infrastructure projects costing above ₹150 crore being executed in the State.

The Union Minister will review the pending issues connected with the IOCL Cochin LPG Import Terminal project, BPCL projects and Kochi Metro Rail with project officials and discuss ways to expedite the works.

The LPG Import Terminal Project will be the focus of the meeting as the project is of national importance in view of the increasing demand of LPG.

The LPG Import Terminal Project being set up by IOCL at a cost of ₹715 crore comprising the jetty [Multi-User Liquid Terminal (MULT)] and the storage terminal at Puthuvypeen has come to a standstill following the stir by local people since February 16, 2017.

After the review, Mr. Gowda will meet Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and discuss the projects. The Union Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the State Academy of Statistical Administration here.
