Estes Valley Recreation and Park District (EVRPD) is thanking the more than 30 local businesses that sponsor its recreation programs and teams.
"Athletic programming promotes positive social interactions, improves self-esteem and encourages healthy lifestyle choices," said Matt Enrietta, Parks and Recreation Director for Estes Valley Recreation and Park District. "We would be unable to provide such beneficial programs without the help of local businesses and volunteers."
In 2017, Estes Park businesses from large to small helped fund the equipment, instructor costs for programs such as Colorado Association of Recreational Athletics (CARA), and uniforms as well as offset some of the registration fees for more than 100 children in the sports programs offered by EVRPD. These programs included a wide variety of sports, such as basketball, baseball and soccer.
As EVRPD continues to grow and expand their program offerings, more sponsors will be needed to continue providing the opportunities for children to participate in youth sports.
One of the first programs of 2018 that will need sponsors is the Junior Nuggets youth basketball program, which runs from Feb. 5 to March 17. The teams in this year's league will be the first to play in the new community center as well, an exciting opportunity for these children.
For $175, sponsors get the opportunity to give back to the community plus having their name and logo displayed on a banner in the gymnasium of the new Estes Valley Community Center.
