Salman Khan is one helluva action star, who everyone looks up to. Be it firing bullets from a machine gun, pulling off his t shirt or driving a cool bike around town, the actor always set the silver screen on fire with some fantastic, larger than life frames. But sadly, we might not be able to see all that when Salman plays the lead role in Bharat. And here’s why! Director Ali Abbas Zafar explains to Mid-day, “There is a secret method of working with Salman, and I will keep that information to myself. The face of Indian cinema is changing and you need to make a statement with every film. One must be open to experimenting with genres instead of sticking to one.”
Ali Abbas Zafar also added that the exaggerated machismo in his films becomes redundant after a while and it is important to highlight Salman Khan’s other side for his character in Bharat. The kind of character he plays needs him to be different from what he has played in Tiger Zinda Hai or Sultan. And even though Ali has two blockbusters with Salman, the director feels he can’t take things lightly. As he revealed to the tabloid, “To keep up with the current landscape, it is important to keep rediscovering the superstar that Salman Khan is. It is imperative that as a writer, I give him the material that enables him to discover new dimensions while portraying his character.” (ALSO READ – Salman Khan’s Bharat will NOT be exactly like Ode to My Father courtesy this reason)
