With an eye on Parliamentary and Assembly elections in 2019, BJP national president Amit Shah will visit Haryana in February to review the poll preparedness in the State.

Shah’s one-day visit is scheduled on February 15 in Hisar, during which he will meet the Chief Minister, Cabinet Ministers and MLAs and flag off a statewide motorcycle rally to spread a word on development works undertaken by the Central and Haryana Governments.

The BJP national president will also address party workers and lay foundation stone of five new party offices in the State during his visit.

Earlier, Shah had visited Haryana in August last year during his three-day tour and had attended more than 27 events which included meetings with Ministers, MLAs, MPs, party office bearers and workers in Rohtak, with an aim to further strengthen party’s base ahead of 2019 polls.

“The party chief Amit Shah will visit Haryana on February 15 to flag off BJP’s statewide motorcycle rally for spreading awareness about the development works undertaken under the maiden BJP Government in the State,” said Haryana State BJP media in-charge, Rajiv Jain while talking to The Pioneer.

Jain said, “Ahead of 2019 polls, Haryana BJP has already switched over to election mode. Besides flagging off BJP’s motorcycle rally, Amit Shah will lay foundation stone of five party offices in the State.” The party chief will also meet Chief Minister, Cabinet Ministers, MLAs and party workers on the occasion, added he.

A day before, the Chief Minister Manohar Lal had held a routine informal Cabinet meeting to discuss the preparations for upcoming visit of BJP chief and party’s campaign in view of next year’s poll.

The BJP led Haryana Government had completed its three years tenure in office in October last year and had decided to go all out to publicise its achievements and reach out to the people of rural and urban areas in the State.

During his previous visit to Haryana, Shah had made it mandatory for the ministers to remain available to listen to the grievances of party workers twice a week in Chandigarh.

Following the large number of complaints of party workers pertaining to the inaccessibility of CM’s office and State cabinet in Haryana, Shah had asked all ministers to remain present in their respective offices in Chandigarh from 10 am onwards every Tuesday and Wednesday to listen to the grievances of party workers.

However, Shah’s directions are being ignored by the ministers who are often seen missing in their offices on designated days.

Notably, the saffron party had wrested power from the Congress in the state assembly polls 2014 and formed the Government on its own strength.

So far, the tenure of BJP Govt in Haryana was replete with controversies and fiascos including the violent Jat quota stir, Chandigarh stalking case, mishandling of Dera violence among other issues.
