The show, which first aired on Monday, replaced the hit prison drama Lockdown, which screened on Monday at 8pm.
Two wives, two lives, too many secrets - not so picture-perfect is how Mzansi Magic has described the latest drama to hit South African screens.
iKhaya, which translates to "home", follows the life of Eddie, who is played by Saint Seseli, a family man leading a double life, caught between his wives Raisibe, played by Molobane Maja-Mbatha, and Cebile, who is played by Nqobile Sipamla, and the two families he has created.
While juggling his families based Daveyton and the Limpopo village of Ga-Modjadji, Eddie is forced to create different personas, quickly transforming from Joburg businessman to Limpopo truck driver.
This telenovela promises to be as exciting as Eddie’s secrets. Many viewers hope it will answer the many questions they have been asking: How does he manage to keep his double life secret so well, and will his living on the edge backfire?

M-Net director of local entertainment channels Reneilwe Sema said: “As Mzansi Magic, we want to tell stories that are authentic and challenge our viewers while creating meaningful conversations. iKhaya is a compelling and captivating story that the audiences will appreciate.”
With a topic so popular in South Africa, there is little doubt that this show will be a nail-biter, and perhaps it will bring a serious kind of humour to an uncomfortable topic.
