High Court has halted the auctioning of 4G spectrum for the telecommunication industry of Bangladesh.
It did so in response to a writ petition filed by a wireless internet provider who claimed of rules being flouted while publicising a circular of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).
Moved by the writ, the High Court bench of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Zafar Ahmed passed a rule seeking explanation from BTRC why the circular should not be declared illegal.
Bangla Lion Communications Ltd filed the writ claiming that BTRC issued the circular in contravention of the clauses 4.2 and 4.06(3) of broadband wireless guideline of 2008.
