Canton missed two 3-point shots that would have tied the game and sent it to overtime in the closing seconds as Iowa held on for a 100-97 win over the Charge at the G League Showcase in Mississauga, Ontario. Canton has now lost five of its last six games.

IOWA WOLVES 100, CANTON CHARGE 97 JaCorey Williams and Isaac Hamilton missed 3-point shots in the final 13 seconds for Canton as a furious comeback attempt in the final three minutes fell just short for the Charge against Iowa at the G League Showcase at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga, Ontario.
Williams missed his shot with 6.8 seconds remaining but Caleb Swanigan came up with the offensive rebound for Canton. Swanigan was able to get the ball to Williams, who missed his shot with 1.9 seconds left.
Canton (9-15) trailed Iowa (13-10) by as many as 12 points in the fourth quarter. The Charge have now lost five of their last six games.
Marcus Thornton was the leading scorer for Canton with 25 points. Williams had 22 points and six rebounds. Swanigan, a flex-player on assignment from the Portland Trail Blazers and a first-round draft pick in the 2017 NBA draft, had 13 points, 16 rebounds and four assists. London Perrantes also had 11 points and eight assists for Canton.
Rookie Amile Jefferson led Iowa with 29 points, 15 rebounds and six assists. Anthony Brown, a two-way player from the Minnesota Timberwolves, added 18 points and six rebounds. Rookie Melo Trimble contributed 14 points. Shawne Williams and Elijah Millsap rounded out the double-figure scorers for the Wolves with 10 points apiece.
