Chalk up another loss for the Red Storm.

St. John’s announced Wednesday night that guard Marcus LoVett will miss the remainder of the season after being sidelined for much of the season thus far with a sprained MCL in his left knee.

“Marcus has a bright future ahead, so while it is disappointing that he will miss the remainder of the season, his long term health is the primary focus,” St. John’s head coach Chris Mullin said.

LoVett was initially hurt in November. He started all seven of his appearances this season and averaged 14.9 points per game. He also handed out 12 assists and recorded 15 steals playing 32.7 minutes per contest.

St. John’s is 10-7 on the season and 0-5 in the Big East after falling to Patrick Ewing and Georgetown at the Garden Tuesday night.
