Haryana approves Rs 174.49 cr to set up War Memorial

Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Anil Vij on Wednesday said that an administrative approval amounting to Rs 174.49 crore has been given for the war memorial being constructed in Ambala in the memory of martyrs of the first Indian freedom struggle of 1857.

 The department concerned have been directed to prepare a blue print for the same, Vij said.

The Minister said that the war memorial would have a huge lounge, memorial tower with the name of martyrs imprinted on it, a library, an auditorium hall and four audio-video hall.

He said that apart from this, an open-air theater having capacity of about 750 people would also be constructed in the war memorial. Facility of 3D picture would  be made available in this open-air theater, said Vij.

Helipad, food court, coffee shop, ATM, dispensary, waiting room, parking are among the  other facilities  to be provided in the war memorial, the Minister said.

He added that a huge library would also be got constructed in the war memorial where the historical items related to the first freedom movement of the country would be kept.
