Man charged with attempted vehicle burglary

A man was arrested today after a homeowner caught him on video surveillance pulling on a vehicle door handle, Thibodaux Police said.

Terrance Vicks, 23, is charged with attempted simple burglary of a motor vehicle. He remains in the Lafourche Parish jail on a $2,000 bond.

The incident was reported about 1:20 a.m. in the 100 block of Estate Drive, Police Chief Bryan Zeringue said in a news release. The vehicle was locked and in the homeowner's driveway.

"Locking your vehicles can go a long way in the protection of your property," Zeringue said. "Many burglars are looking for unlocked, easy targets."
