Returning to The Arches in Albert Square, it was clear that her interest was secretly in the New Year’s Day heist.

Mel (played by Tamzin Outhwaite) was spying on Ben Mitchell (Harry Reid) throughout the episode, before walking into The Arches as the credits rolled. 

However, after making her return earlier this week, tonight’s continuation will see Mel immediately get down to business and pay Ben a visit to ask for her car to be fixed.

With Ben unaware of who Mel is and her dark history in Walford, he is quick to turn her away.

But what has truly bought her back to Walford?

In upcoming scenes, Mel will be seen in Kathy's Cafe talking to her former husband Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt).

Ian seems to be attempting to rekindle their once turbulent relationship by asking Mel if she wants to get a drink, or go for a bite to eat while she’s back in Walford.

During the conversation Mel’s eyes dart to the diamond necklace that Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) was given by Ben in Tuesday’s episode, and begins to inquire about it, saying: “That’s a lovely necklace, by the way.”

Kathy immediately downplays the subject, replying: “Thank you, just a bit of costume jewellery. But it is pretty, yeah.”
