1984 anti-Sikh riots: BJP hails SC decision

BJP leaders have welcomed the decision of the Supreme Court to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) for investigation into 186 cases related to 1984 anti-Sikh riots, which were closed.

Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari said not only the Modi Government but  also former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee who constituted the Nanawati Commission in May, 2000 and former Delhi CM Madan Lal Khurana, who constituted Justice Narula Commission in 1993, tried their best to get fair justice for the 1984 riot victims.

MLA from Rajouri Garden and Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) general secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa hoped that with the fresh SIT, justice will be given to the sikh community awaiting for more than three decades.
