Manipur plea to confine Naga pact
Morung Express | December 31, 2017
Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Election and Parliamentary Affairs, Imkong L Imchen on Saturday said it was imperative for every Naga to pursue for the right Naga political settlement. Addressing the second day of the Khensa Students’ Union (KSU) Platinum Jubilee at the Multipurpose Community Hall, Imchen felt that Nagas cannot expect a better situation than the present to arrive to a political settlement.
Imchen also reiterated that Naga political settlement should be given priority in every dimension and said that there should be solution first before election.
“Once election is conducted, there will be more divisions within the political parties, the frontal organisations, other bodies and it will take time to bring unity. If we don’t arrive to a political settlement now, there will be more fragmentations. Therefore, Naga Political Settlement should be given priority in every dimension,” Imchen indicated.
