Mahrez was house hunting in Liverpool
06.00: Liverpool DID come close to signing Mahrez after Philippe Coutinho joined Barcelona, according to beIN Sports reporter Mohammed Al-Wadahi.
He claims Mahrez was already looking for a house in Liverpool.
“The news of the transfer to Liverpool is a very reliable source of much more than the player’s agent,” he tweeted.
“He did not publish it until I received the green light from the same player who started looking for a house in Liverpool and was ready to move to Liverpool for a medical examination after he was told.
“At the last moment there were things I would come back to later.”
Real Madrid want Salah
05.30: Real Madrid are keen to sign Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah after watching Barcelona break the bank to take Philippe Coutinho to the Bernabeu, according to reports.
The Egyptian has been in magnificent form since moving to Anfield, scoring 24 goals for both club and country.
According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Real are hopeful of convincing the 25-year-old to move to the Spanish capital.
However, it looks unlikely Jurgen Klopp would sell his star attacker, especially so soon after losing Coutinho.
Man City table £20m Sanchez bid
05.00: Arsenal are set to start Alexis Sanchez against Chelsea tonight (8pm), despite receiving a £20m bid from Manchester City for the Chilean.
The Blues chased the 29-year-old in the summer and tried to secure a £60m move, which fell through at the final hour.
But now with the forward’s contract up at the end of the season they are trying to secure his services for a cut-price.
It is thought Arsenal are holding out for a fee more in the region of £35m, but City’s first bid is a little over half of that amount.
Real target summer raid for Kane and Hazard
04.30: Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is preparing a huge summer spending spree on signing both Harry Kane and Eden Hazard, but he must do one thing first.
Kane and Hazard have been touted as their No 1 targets, with the latter’s father coming out and stating the Chelsea star is holding out for a move to the Bernabeu.
And Spanish outlet OK Diario claim Real will push ahead with a bid for the Premier League duo in the summer.
But the report goes on to state the La Liga giants will need to offload Karim Benzema in order to fund a potential move.
The France international has faced heavy criticism from Real fans this season having scored just two league goals.
