Some members of the media on Tuesday praised President Trump for allowing the press to stay in the room during his meeting with a group of bipartisan lawmakers discussing immigration.
What was supposed to be a pool spray at the top of the meeting turned into a 55-minute discussion between Democratic and Republican lawmakers as the press watched.
Some journalists said they can remember no other president inviting members of the press to watch negotiations before. A former adviser to President Barack Obama fired back at the press for suggesting it had never happened.
