Boy was asked to bring his mother after classmate fell down and suffered injury

A class X student of a government school in Melakuppam reportedly committed suicide. Sundaramurthy, 15, a resident of Melakuppam, was found hanging in his house on Tuesday morning.

According to the police, he was playing with his classmate, Karthikeyan, in school before the model examination began at 10 a.m. When they were running, Karthikeyan slipped and fell down and sustained an injury on his knee. When the class teacher arrived, she found him crying in pain. He narrated the incident to her, the police said.

The police said the teacher allegedly asked Sundaramurthy why he pushed Karthikeyan and told him to bring his mother to the school. However, the boy went home, but did not return.

As the exam was about to commence, the teacher sent another student to bring Sundaramurthy. Though Sundaramurthy accompanied the boy to school, he disappeared midway. The teacher sent the student again to Sundaramurthy’s house at 11.30 a.m. The boy was found hanging. Following this incident, the police have registered a case under section 174 of CrPC. are conducting inquiries.
