SUV sales: Prado goes top in December '17

Cape Town - The Toyota Prado soared to the top of the list as South Africa's top-selling luxury SUV for December 2017.

The Prado managed to attract the interest of 141 buyers to send it well clear of the regular table leaders. One of which is its stable mate, the Toyota Land Cruiser 200. The Land Cruiser managed to secure the signatures of 120 buyers.

British onslaught

Jaguar Land Rover also continued its battle for luxury SUV supremacy with Toyota during December 2017.

The Range Rover and Range Rover Sport took third position with 109 units, ahead of a former top-seller, the fifth-generation Land Rover Discovery (94 units). The new Range Rover Velar secured 68 new owners in fifth place, ahead of the Jeep Grand Cherokee (63 units).

The Range Rover Evoque again made an impact with its compact dimensions to register 57 new vehicles sold. The Jaguar F-Pace sits comfortable in eighth place with 48 units.

Former South African Car of the Year champion, the Volvo XC90, found 34 new owners, with the Audi Q7 rounding out the top ten with 31 units.
