Prices of jeera and turmeric rose Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale kirana market in the national capital today due to upsurge in demand. However, other spices remain flat in thin trade. Marketmen said besides uptick in demand from stockists and retailers, fall in supplies from growing regions mainly led to rise in jeera and turmeric prices. Jeera common and best quality rose Rs 100 each to Rs 21,100-21,200 and Rs 23,500-24,000 per quintal, respectively. Turmeric also traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 8,900-11,900 per quintal.
