Accident kills elderly person (Photos)

A 73-year-old person was killed in an accident in Polonnaruwa this afternoon (Jan. 10).

Police said that the accident occurred when a cab and a three-wheeler collided head-on.

The deceased was travelling in the three-wheeler and another person who was with him had also sustained injuries.

The cab driver was arrested by police and preliminary investigations revealed that he had fallen asleep on the wheel, which had led to the mishap.
