Girls Basketball: Ali Brigham nets triple-double in Franklin's win over Taunton

Sophomore forward Ali Brigham had a triple-double with 15 points, 13 rebounds and 10 blocked shots, and Franklin (5-4, 4-2 HL) rolled past host Taunton, 55-4, in a Hockomock League game.

Sophomore forward Ali Brigham had a triple-double with 15 points, 13 rebounds and 10 blocked shots, and Franklin (5-4, 4-2 HL) rolled past host Taunton, 55-41, in a Hockomock League game on Tuesday night.

Sophomore forward Megan O’Connell also had 15 points and freshman guard Elizabeth Wilson added 12 points for the Panthers.

Franklin led 31-17 at the half.

Franklin plays at Holy Name on Friday at 6:30 p.m. in a non-league game in Worcester.

MILFORD 49, CANTON 38: Senior captain Kate Irwin had a team-high 26 points to lead Milford (5-2, 3-2 HL) past Canton in a Hockomock League contest.

Senior captain Emily Piergustavo added nine points and also played well for the Scarlet Hawks on defense.

Milford hosts Foxboro on Friday at 6:30 p.m. 

MEDWAY 74, BELLINGHAM 25: The Mustangs (7-2, 6-1 TVL) had four players score 10 points apiece in a Tri-Valley League victory over visiting Bellingham.

Sophomore Mary Kate Gould, junior Samantha Murray, freshman Lauren Beach and senior Riley Childs all scored 10 points.

In all, the Mustangs had 13 players score on the night.

For the Blackhawks, Elie D’Agostino scored eight points and Maddie Mantagni added seven in the loss.

Medway led 48-9 at halftime.

The Mustangs host Holliston on Tuesday

MILLIS 54, DEDHAM 25: Freshman forward Eryn Rice had a game-high 20 points and added eight rebounds to lead Millis (6-4, 3-3 TVL) past Dedham in a Tri-Valley League contest.

Sophomore Caileen Adams added 13 points for the Mohawks.

Millis plays Norton at home on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

ASHLAND 54, DOVER-SHERBORN 28: Sophomore Kayla Madden had a game-high 22 points to lift Ashland (7-2, 5-2 TVL) over Tri-Valley League foe.

Sophomore Ryann Lima added 14 points, with 10 of those coming in the first quarter.

Ally Shulman had a team-high 12 points for the Raiders while teammate Olivia Collins added 10 points.

The Clockers host Holliston on Friday at 5:30 p.m.

HOLLISTON 44, WESTWOOD 41: Senior captain Grace Dzindolet scored 22 points, grabbed eight rebounds, had four steals and hit 10-of-11 free throws late in the game to lead Holliston (3-3, 2-3 TVL) to a victory over Tri-Valley League rival Westwood.

Panthers junior forward Brooke Geoffroy notched a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds while senior captain Tess Powers added five points and six rebounds in the win.

Holliston trailed 22-18 at halftime.

"These kids played a really strong and composed second half," Holliston coach Dan Keefe said. "I'm very proud of them."

Holliston visits Ashland on Friday at 5:30 p.m.

MARLBOROUGH 40, SHREWSBURY 34: Freshman guard Celine Al-Nammari scored 11 points to lead Marlborough (4-3) to a victory over Shrewsbury in a non-league matchup.

Panthers junior forward Nicole Galliac tallied nine points while junior forward Ciara Shanahan added eight points and 14 rebounds in the win.

Marlborough scored 33 of their points on 3-pointers.

Marlborough visits Nashoba on Friday at 7:00 p.m.

NORTH MIDDLESEX 55, HUDSON 49 (OT): Sophomores Brianna Cabral and Alex Sousa each had 13 points but Hudson (5-4, 1-1 MWC) fell to North Middlesex in overtime in a Mid-Wach C game.

Hudson led 26-22 at halftime and the game was 47-47 heading to overtime before North Middlesex took over.

"I was really proud of them," Hudson coach Chiara Bubin said. "North Middlesex is a top team and it was a great game. I just wish it came out differently."

Junior Allura Carney had 11 points and eight rebounds for Hudson.

The Hawks play at Oakmont on Friday at 7 p.m.

GROTON-DUNSTABLE 65, ALGONQUIN 41: Senior Amanda Carroll scored 13 points but host Algonquin (3-4) fell to Groton-Dunstable in a non-league game.

The Tomahawks trailed 25-20 at halftime but the Crusaders had a huge 25-9 third quarter to run away with the win.

Junior Rachel McMenemy added 11 points in the loss.

Algonquin hosts Shepherd Hill on Friday.

LEOMINSTER 60, WESTBOROUGH 26: Sophomore Emma Phelps had eight points but Westborough (3-5) fell to host Leominster in a non-league game.

The Rangers only trailed 23-21 at halftime, but managed just five points in the second half.

Sophomore Annie Beckman had 12 rebounds in the loss.

Westborough plays at Fitchburg on Tuesday.

LINCOLN-SUDBURY 49, CONCORD-CARLISLE 26: Senior captain Sofia Rosa had 16 points and added eight rebounds for Lincoln-Sudbury (4-2) in a victory over Concord-Carlisle.

Senior Hannah Jozwiakowski had eight points for the Warriors.

L-S hosts Newton South on Friday at 7 p.m.

ACTON-BOXBORO 53, WAYLAND 50: Senior guard Naomi Lathan had 18 points and five rebounds for Wayland (3-4) in a non-league loss at Acton-Boxboro.

Emma Kiernan netted 15 points, and Darby Leid had 13 points and five rebounds for the Warriors, who trailed 31-28 at the half.

Wayland plays at Weston Friday at 7 p.m. in a Dual County League Small matchup.

NATICK 56, NORWOOD 23: Sophomore forward Brenna McDonald had 12 points and 10 rebounds as visiting Natick (6-1) pulled away in the second quarter to rout Norwood in a Bay State Conference Herget matchup.

Juniors forward Mia Grundberg and guard Hailey Murphy were defensive stalwarts for the Redhawks.

Natick led 20-11 at halftime.

WELLESLEY 55, MILTON 47: Senior captain Kelcie Zarle led the Raiders with 20 points as Wellesley (6-2, 3-1 BSC) outlasted Milton in a Bay State Conference matchup.

Junior Gianna Palli added 18 points, all coming from long range, as the Raiders hit 10 3-pointers in the first half to build a 38-15 halftime lead.

Wellesley hosts Framingham on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

NEWTON NORTH 61, FRAMINGHAM 49: Junior Riley LaChance had a team-high 17 points and 10 rebounds as Framingham (1-8, 0-4 BSC) fell to Newton North in a Bay State Conference contest.

Senior captain Julia Gelman had 13 points, and freshman Hannah Krier added five points and three steals off the bench for the Flyers.

Framingham heads to Wellesley on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

AMSA 41, ABBY KELLEY 22: Senior guard Lauren Hailey scored 14 points to lead AMSA (3-3, 2-1 CAL) to a victory over Colonial Athletic League opponent Abby Kelley.

Eagles sophomore forward Diana Bibinski added eight points in the win.

AMSA led at halftime 28-16.

The Eagles visit Main South on Thursday at 5 p.m.

WORCESTER TECH 36, ASSABET 30: Junior Trinity Grenier had a game-high 14 points but Assabet (2-5, 2-3 CAL) fell to Worcester Tech in a Colonial Athletic League contest.
