PABNA, Jan 9: A drug-addicted prisoner in the jail died at Pabna General Hospital on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Rubel Hossen, 30, son of Shahjahan Ali, of Bankhola Village under Sujanagar Upazila in the district.
Officer-in-Charge of Pabna Sadar Police Station Abdur Razzak said a local sent the deceased to jail on December 27 last year in a drug case. On Tuesday morning, the prison authorities admitted him to Pabna General Hospital immediately after he felt ill, but he died there under treatment.
