Debt-ridden businessman suicide case: Opposition demands compensation for family

Prakash Pandey, a debt-ridden businessman who attempted suicide by consuming poison at Bharatiya Janata party office during Janta Darbar in Dehradun on January 6, died on Tuesday. The man was admitted to a nearby hospital after the incident, where his stomach was cleared by the doctors. Pandey had written to Prime Minister Office and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat several times, explaining his business was suffering due to demonetisation and GST. Uttarakhand Opposition leader Indira Hridayesh visited the family to pay her condolence and demanded the Chief Minister Rawat to announce minimum Rs 10 Lakh compensation to his family and class-3 government job to the deceased’s wife.
