The University of Sheffield, UK, is offering the Science International Scholarship 2018 to all international undergraduate students starting their studies in the Faculty of Science at the University of Sheffield in September 2018. The Scholarship 2018 is worth £2,500 per year, subject to the following eligibility and award criteria:
Eligibility: You must commence your studies of an UG or foundation degree in September 2018 in one of the following departments: Department of Animal and Plant Sciences, Department of Biomedical Science, Department of Chemistry, School of Mathematics and Statistics, Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Department of Physics and Astronomy, Department of Psychology. The scholarship will be awarded automatically — no application is required in the first or any subsequent years.
The award is applicable to each subsequent academic year of study, subject to achieving 60% or above and achieving a minimum of 120 credits in the previous academic year. This excludes any years in industry or study abroad periods.
Also, 50% merit scholarship is available to international UG Science students. Students can apply for scholarships after receiving a conditional or unconditional offer from the University of Sheffield.
Federal Environment Ministry’s International Climate Initiative invites applications for International Climate Protection Fellowships for the year 2018. Up to 20 fellowships are available for young climate experts from developing countries in Germany.
Eligibility: Bachelor’s or equivalent, completed less than 12 years previously, counting back from the end of the application period (March 1, 2018). Extensive work experience (at least 48 months) or completed doctorate in the field of climate protection or climate-related resource conservation as of 09/2016. Scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals according to international standards. A detailed statement by a host in Germany, including a mentoring agreement; details of the proposal must be discussed with the prospective host prior to application • Citizenship of a non-European transition or developing country. Very good knowledge of English and/or German. Two expert references by individuals qualified to comment on the candidate’s professional, personal and, if applicable, academic eligibility as well as his/her leadership potential.
