Apple has made an extra GBP 136 million tax payment in the UK following an audit by HMRC, reports the Financial Times. This payment was shown in accounts for UK subsidiary Apple Europe. Apple said it reflected the company's increased activity.

Apple Europe conducts marketing services for an Irish sister company, and HMRC argued that it had not been paid sufficient commission on sales it helped secure. The payment covers several years up to 2015.
