I will not let State turn into strike State: CM

The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat has said that the Government is determined not allow the State to get converted into a ‘Strike State’. He was talking to the newsmen at State party office on Tuesday.

Responding to a question about state wide strike by the employees of Uttarakhand Purva Sainik Kalyan Nigam Limited (UPNL) and its impact on different services, Rawat said that the state government is ready for talks with the workers but clarified that the Government would not come under any sort of pressure.

 He added that the state government is trying to remove pay disparities in different departments. On all weather road, the CM said that the Union government has agreed on the contention of the state Government that interest should also be paid on the compensation amount to the people whose land have been acquired for the project.

Now an interest 12 percent on the compensation amount would also be paid to the farmers along with the compensation amount, he informed.

While replying to a question about protest of Karni Sena and other outfits on screening of Padmavat movie, the Chief Minister said that he is of the opinion that no one should be allowed to play with sentiments of the people and the state government would take necessary action after viewing the movie. The Chief Minister, however, skirted the issue of distribution of positions and responsibility in different Government bodies and said that the being workers of BJP is also a big responsibility.
