Telefonica launches Movistar TV in Costa Rica

Telefonica has finally launched its Movistar TV service throughout Costa Rica following a preliminary trial carried out last month. The service can be accessed via DTH or a hybrid STB and offers access to the company’s  'Movistar Play' video on demand (VoD) catalogue of films and TV series. The company will be looking to compete with established rivals Sky and Claro via 4 different Movistar TV plans ranging from a basic package with 15 HD and 54 SD channels to a premium one with 25 HD channels and HBO and Fox content.
