Haryana to celebrate Guru Ravi Dass Jayanti

Haryana Government will organise State level celebrations of Guru Ravi Dass Jayanti in Kaithal and Bhiwani on January 28 and February 4 respectively.

Transport and Housing Minister, Krishan Lal Panwar said that Chief Minister Manohar Lal will be chief guest at these functions.

The Minister, who was presiding over a meeting concerning arrangements of Guru Ravi Dass Jayanti here, directed the officers to ensure extensive publicity of the celebrations.

Minister of State for Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classed, Krishan Kumar Bedi and Minister of State for Public Health Engineering. Banwari Lal were also present in the meeting.

Panwar said that the State Government’s decision to hold Jayantis of great personalities like Maharishi Balmiki, Sant Kabir, Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar and Guru Ravi Dass at State-level is a humble tribute to them. This would also strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and harmony among people, said he.

He added that Guru Ravi Dass was not confined to a particular caste and community, rather he had shown path to the whole humanity and his teachings were still relevant today.
