Good Zoo and red pandas featured in The Washington Post

WHEELING, W.Va. - The Oglebay Good Zoo is receiving some national attention after its animal encounters program was recently featured in an article in The Washington Post.
The red panda was the focus of the article after a YouTube video of a spooked red panda went viral.
The Good Zoo has two red pandas: a nine year old male and 13 year old female.
Zoo Director Dr. Joe Greathouse says they are a favorite of people who come to the zoo for animal encounters because of their calm demeanor and, of course, because they are cute.
"I think people just kind of relate to the calm, quiet and relaxed nature of the red pandas and feel really comfortable around them. Typically with our red panda encounter, we're booked two months in advance on weekends, so usually guests have to call in and make reservations in advance," said Greathouse.
The goal of the animal encounter program is to build a connection between humans and the animal so people will build an appreciation for wildlife and conservation.
