FRAMINGHAM – Two Framingham men and three teens broke into a School Street warehouse in June and trashed it, causing more than $16,000 worth of damage, authorities said on Tuesday.
Richard A. Maceda, 18, pleaded not guilty at his Framingham District Court arraignment to breaking into the warehouse at 2 School St., on June 13.
A second man, Yardley Moyette, 19, of Framingham, was also scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday, but did not appear. Three teens – two 16-year-olds and one 17-year-old – are also charged with the break-in.
The property manager for the warehouse, which was empty at the time, told police he had installed security cameras after several break-ins. On June 13, cameras caught a break-in.
“The suspects appeared to be in their teens and are seen peeling back the back garage door and sliding underneath and opening it for the others,” police wrote in a report filed in court on Tuesday.
When police searched the building, officers found an office area that was full of rotting food, trash, urine, vomit and feces.
“It was impossible to walk through the room without stepping on something,” police wrote in the report.
The walls in the room appeared to have been punched and kicked repeatedly and were close to collapse. The property manager said he received a $l6,000 estimate to repair and clean the warehouse, according to the report.
Officers showed the video to school resource officers who identified Maceda, Moyette and the three teens. Several other people could not be identified. Police did not arrest any of them, but obtained summonses for them to appear in court.
Maceda, of 306 Bishop St., is charged with breaking and entering and malicious destruction of property worth more than $250.
At Maceda’s Framingham District Court arraignment, Judge Martine Carroll released him without bail, ordering him to stay away from the warehouse. He is due back in court on Feb. 22 for a pretrial conference.
