The Super Bowl is the single biggest sporting event in the US sports calendar and the annual finale of the National Football League season.
The thrilling championship will pit eight teams against each other to fight through the playoffs in a bid to snatch the coveted Vince Lombardi Trophy.
After the playoffs, Super Bowl will see the AFC champion goes head to head with the NFC champion, but only one team will be crowned victor.
Last year’s dramatic Super Bowl saw the New England Patriots seize victory from the Atlanta Falcons in a close 34 – 28 score.

When is the Super Bowl 2018?
Super Bowl LII, also known as Super Bowl 52, will take place on Sunday February 4.
The kick-off time for the championship will be announced at a later date, but it is expected to start around 6pm Eastern Time (11pm GMT).
Where is the Super Bowl 2018 held?
For the second time in NFL history, the football championship will head to the chilly city of Minneapolis, Minnesota, after the city hosted the games in 1992.
The teams will clash at the gargantuan US Bank Stadium which can hold more than 66,600 revellers for the event.
The US Bank Stadium was built on the grounds of the demolished Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, which hosted the Super Bowl in 1992.
This year’s event also marks the sixth time the Super Bowl is held in a cold weather city, but the stadium has a fixed roof to shield the players from the elements.

Who will perform at the Super Bowl half time show?
The honour of entertaining the crowds at the crucial half-time break goes to 10-time Grammy Award winner Justin Timberlake.

This will be the singer’s third performance at the Super Bowl, after his steamy duet with Janet Jackson in 2014, during which he exposed her breast to the millions of people watching.
Justin announced on Twitter last October: “I do have the time. Half the time. #PepsiHalftime #SBLII”
Prior to the wardrobe malfunction controversy, Justin performed at the Super Bowl in 2001 as part of the boyband supergroup NSYNC.
Alongside Justin, singer Pink will perform the US National Anthem before the start of the show with actor and director Alexandria Wailes who will perform it in sign language.
Pink posted on Twitter today: “See you at the Super Bowl.”
Lady Gaga sang at the half-time show last year after it was revealed that Adele turned down the offer.
How to watch the Super Bowl in the UK?
The good news for UK fans of the American football league is that the entire event will be hosted by the BBC for free.
Last year’s coverage was broadcast live from the US on BBC One from 11.20pm GMT.
In the US, the Super Bowl is the single most watched televised broadcast in recent history, with Super Bowl XLIX (49) topping the charts with an incredible 115.2 million viewers in 2015.
