more-in

The city Corporation will implement a green protocol-based urban management system in the Beemapally festival area. The annual Urus at the mosque is scheduled to commence on February 17 and end on February 27.

At a meeting here, Mayor V.K. Prasanth said temporary toilets and aero bins to collect waste would be set up. He urged devotees to turn to more eco-friendly packing. The Corporation would work in tandem with the Kerala Water Authority to ensure round-the-clock treated drinking water supply. The roads leading to the pilgrimage centre would be resurfaced. A medical team would be deployed at the spot and a temporary infirmary with modern facilities set up. Mr. Prasanth said he had asked the police to draw up a scheme to regulate traffic and ensure security. The KSRTC would conduct special services for the festival.
