A CRASH reportedly involving four cars caused severe delays on the A34 southbound this morning.

The collision happened just past the Peartree Interchange and one lane was closed, but had reopened by 9am.

At 8am queues were stretching back for nine miles from Wytham to Wendlebury, but these were starting to clear as the lane reopened.

Northbound traffic was also slow between the Peartree Interchange and Botley Interchange, due to drivers slowing near the adjacent crash.

South Central Ambulance Service said it had not been called out to the crash - suggesting no-one was injured.

Meanwhile another of Oxfordshire's key commuter roads, the A40, remains partly shut due to an overturned lorry.
