The Dingle’s haven’t had much luck lately with Debbie’s (played by Charley Webb) boyfriend Tom Waterhouse (played by Ned Porteous) revealing his true identity to be Joseph Tate, an old enemy of the family.

And it seems their luck is about to get worse as fans took to Twitter to point out one major mishap during the instalment.

Eagle-eyed fans pointed out there were still Christmas decorations hung up around the village with many in the Woolpack and Charity Dingle’s (played by Emma Atkins) home.

The pub’s huge Christmas tree, baubles and tinsel were still extremely prominent despite the big day being two weeks ago.

Leaving the festive decorations up after January 5 is considered unlucky by many as the Church of England marks this date as the Twelfth Night ahead of another holy festival known as Epiphany.

And those watching were extremely worried about the Dales residents as they took to social media in their droves to express their concern about the superstition.

One person wrote: “Christmas decorations still up in Emmerdale. To avoid bad luck you'll have to leave up until 2nd February #Emmerdale.”

"My mom is stressing because the decorations are still up in the cafe and it's unlucky etc please fix it before she self-destructs @emmerdale #Emmerdale," stressed another.

A third added: “#Emmerdale the Xmas decorations are still up In the woolpack. It's bad luck to keep them up after 12th night (6th Jan). Think the Dingle ladies have had enough this year without tempting fate…”

Also in last night’s episode, there was an unexpected exit as Joseph’s right-hand man Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) came to his senses.

“I’m done,” Graham sighed, after warning Joe that he’d gone too far by lying to Debbie.
