It’s 2018 and you know what that means, fellow New Jersey concert-goers: it’s time we look ahead and see which tours are rolling through the Garden State this year.
There’s already a healthy list of huge names en route to New Jersey as soon as later this week, with arena shows booked all the way through October.
A fair mix between new, ascendant pop stars (Charlie Puth, Niall Horan), proven superstars (Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran) and classic rock (Foreigner, Jackson Browne) are all heading here soon. Which concerts are you most excited about this year? Tell us in the comments.
Light of Day Festival
Jan. 12-14, Asbury Park
The sprawling Light of Day festival overtakes the Jersey Shore this weekend as dozens of great events featuring both local and international rock, soul and funk heroes blow through Asbury Park. Too bad perennial surprise guest Bruce Springsteen won’t make it to the main event at the Paramount Theatre — he’s on Broadway that night — but it should still be a terrific show, all in the name of Parkinson’s Disease research.
Lana Del Rey
Jan. 19, Prudential Center, Newark
Cure some of that that summertime sadness later this month with Lana Del Rey, the star dream-pop songstress who rolls through The Rock on her new LA To The Moon Tour.
Wyclef Jean
Feb. 9, Wellmont Theater, Montclair
It took the better part of a decade but in September veteran Jersey emcee Wyclef Jean finally released “Carnival III: The Fall and Rise of a Refugee” and if you wish to hear some new tracks plus all his old staples — “Gone Till November” is still awesome 20 years later — head for Montclair just before Valentine’s Day.
Marilyn Manson
Feb. 16, Starland Ballroom, Sayreville
Enduring shock-rocker Marilyn Manson returns to New Jersey and Starland Ballroom this winter, this time on the strength of his searing October LP “Heaven Upside Down” coupled with his age-old penchant to scare the pudding out of all of us.
