New Delhi, Jan 9: Actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha on Tuesday slammed the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) after the civic body demolished illegal extensions in house in Mumbai’s Juhu area. The BJP MP from Patna Sahib took to Twitter to vent out his anger and said that he was paying price for honest politics.

“People are asking me if I am paying the price for honest politics based on facts, figures & truth & for supporting statesman Yashwant Sinha’s support to Satara farmers. I have no answer. It could well be,” Sinha said.

“Started with the removal of my security cover in Delhi and now demolition at my residence. In all fairness, it could also be a knee jerk reaction of BMC after the tragic fire in some Mumbai restaurants,” he added.

The BMC had received several complaints of illegal extensions in Sinha’s residence ‘Ramayan’ in the last few months. Subsequently, notices were also served to him, the civic official, who supervised the demolition work, said.

Shatrughan Sinha, who is considered close to BJP veteran Lal Krishna Advani, has been an open critic of the Narendra Modi government’s policies. Sinha has used the social media to target the government consistently.

He even backed party veteran and former Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha in his stinging criticism of the Modi government over its handling of country’s economy.

Despite Shatrughan Sinha slamming PM Narendra Modi and BJP leadership often, the party has avoided action against the leader.
