Dubai Police alerted with 5 drug abuse cases

DUBAI: The Dubai Criminal Court on Monday looked into five cases in possession and abuse of hashish, heroin, crystal and marijuana.

In the first case, a Dubai Customs officer told the Dubai Public Prosecution he suspected a person who was examined by X-rays.

“The pocket of the suspect’s shirt was puffed and when searched, drug capsules were found.”, added the witness.

On being questioned, he confessed that he had brought the capsules from Pakistan. In the second case, the General Directorate for Drug Control in Dubai received information that a suspect was still abusing drugs and had an amount which he planned to promote. The suspect was said to have had precedents in drug abuse.

At the time of his arrest, he resisted the teams and insulted them.

When he was searched, no narcotic substances were found, but about one kilogramme of hashish, heroin and Pregabalin were found in his house.

In the third case, the court charged two Asian employees with drug abuse after their urine samples were found to contain amphetamine and methamphetamine

In the fourth case, the court charged a 33-year-old Asian writer with facilitating the abuse of psychotropic substance for defendants who were brought to the criminal court and the court of misdemeanors.

In the fifth case, the Dubai prosecutor uncovered that two African nationals abused and owned drugs, explaining that a number of cigarettes packed with marijuana and ready for sale were found in the first suspect’s room.
