Hot Springs Village police department received reports of two mailboxes receiving damage from vehicles, and various other reports.

Dec. 26
A stone pillar at the end of a Rubi Circle driveway was knocked down. It had been standing Christmas Day.
A red Ford car entered the West Gate without stopping.
An officer notified animal control about a calico cat hanging out around Good Samaritan Society.
After a report of a silver truck with Texas plates entering the West Gate, an officer stopped a silver Toyota Tundra making an illegal turn on DeSoto Boulevard, near Alicante. The partial license plate reported matched the vehicle. The driver had a valid visitor’s pass, and was told to use the left lane when entering.

Dec. 27
After a report of a man delivering construction materials lying in the middle of the cul-de-sac and stumbling around, the responding officer saw he was having a medical episode and called LifeNet.
A Villager told police he received an alert two weeks earlier that someone had requested to draw $48,000 from his account.
An unknown vehicle struck a mailbox on Castano Drive between noon and 1 p.m., also scattering mail. Damage: At least $100.
A Villager reported a missing $3,000 gold-banded engagement ring with five diamonds. The only person who had been in the house was a cleaning woman, but she denied taking it.
A driver who rear-ended a vehicle turning left onto Cortez Road was cited for careless and prohibited driving. Damage: $1,700 and $1,500.

Dec. 28
The owner of a 2014 Nissan Rogue said a hit-and-run driver hit the vehicle in the El Jimador parking lot. Damage: $700.
An LG cell phone found at the post office was turned in and placed in the lost-and-found drawer.
An officer went to a Hartura Way home, where a resident said she did not realize she had dialed 911.
Car keys found by a street department dumpster were placed in the lost-and-found drawer.
A Cevico Lane resident reported a loud gunshot directly behind her home. The report said it appeared someone shot at a deer from either North Barcelona or Zas Place toward Cevico Lane homes, which would be a felony.
An officer went to a family disturbance on Ribera Lane.
A border collie dog, dragging a six-foot lead connected to his collar, was picked up on Gusta Lane, and taken to the animal shelter.
A complainant told police a black truck sped away after a gunshot, and suspects the driver was shooting at deer. The truck is licensed to a Villager.

Dec. 29
A man walking down Minorca Road reportedly was carrying a sign that said “West Gate.”
Gunshots heard in the Malaga Way area may have been off property.
A Villager who owns property in Memphis, Tennessee., said his Memphis neighbor has been sending threatening text messages.
After a report of a possibly intoxicated man on Descollar Circle, he told police he had only had a couple of drinks and did get wordy with a neighborhood visitor, but only with good intentions, as he was watching a house for neighbors.

Dec. 30
After a report of several vehicles parked in the Pyrenees Lane area, an officer found several Entergy Arkansas workers and trucks on Pyrenees Circle.
An officer checked on a woman who had been sitting down in the Monterrey Road area, to ensure she was OK.
A tan Ford Explorer with Arkansas plates reportedly tailgated in Balboa Gate. The vehicle is not registered to a Village address.
A man cutting wood on Robana Circle was told it was past work hours.
An officer stopped a 2014 Ford Fusion that was eastbound on DeSoto Boulevard at Calella. The driver was cited for fictitious plates (license does not match vehicle), and the plate was seized.

Dec. 31
A blue vehicle apparently knocked down a light post on Pizzaro Drive.
An officer moved a rotten tree and debris that had fallen onto Pontevedra Circle.
Two young children without an adult were reportedly on the roadside at Sierra and DeSoto Boulevard.
 After a 911 hangup, an officer found a Balboa Lane resident had fallen. LifeNet came and checked the resident’s condition.
An officer moved a dead deer from the edge of DeSoto Boulevard, at Alicante Road.

Jan. 1
East Gate staff said they heard fireworks or gunshots to the south, possibly from off property.
Fireworks were reportedly fired from the Tiburon Way area. A responding officer saw a large display while driving on Levantino, but no one was around the area upon his arrival.
A patrolling officer told the public works department someone entered the Village by driving around the old Danville Gate.

Jan. 2
An officer went to La Viejo Lane for a medical assist.
An officer saw four medium-sized dogs in the Murcia Way area, but all four ran off.
An officer went to a Nudo Lane family disturbance.
A Villager reported a lost license plate, but it is unknown if it was lost in the Village or elsewhere in Garland County.

Jan. 3
An officer went to a Campeon Court home for a welfare check, but no one was in the home.
East Gate staff seized a POA card that was presented by a family member of the POA member.
A Villager told police when he came home, he learned his girlfriend had left him for another man, taking their 3-year-old child. He was told it is a civil matter.
A loud motorcycle was reportedly operated in the Arias Way area.
