Former actress Meghan Markle has deleted her social media accounts as she prepares to wed Prince Harry.

The Suits star and the British royal announced their engagement in late November, when Meghan also revealed she was retiring from acting to start “a new chapter” with Harry, who she will work with on humanitarian issues and other causes close to their hearts.

Now, Meghan, who ended her blog, The Tig, last April, has taken another step towards revamping her public persona by shutting down her personal Instagram and Twitter accounts, on which she had previously shared photos of her travels and her dogs, Guy and Bogart.

According to People.com, her profiles on both sites disappeared on Tuesday, shortly after undertaking her second official royal engagement with Prince Harry in London.

Meghan, 36, joined her fiance to visit the Reprezent 107.3FM radio studios in Brixton, where station officials work with local youths by providing them with creative training in radio and broadcasting.

They chatted to young DJs and listened to a snippet of a programme by a 17-year-old presenter called Glory, after which Meghan remarked, “I can see why your show is so popular. You’re so thoughtful and your approach is so engaging.”

“I must tune in,” she added, prompting the gathered guests to laugh.

The discussion at the studio later turned to gender equality, and Prince Harry, 33, quickly deferred to Meghan, quipping, “She answers the questions!”

“Yes, talking of gender equality!” she smiled in response.

They also touched on their upcoming wedding at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, just outside London, on 19 May, with the bride-to-be admitting she was “so excited” for the nuptials.
