A sudden downpour in north-central Volusia County prompted a flood advisory Tuesday evening from the National Weather Service.
At least 2.5 inches of rain had fallen across Daytona Beach and Ormond Beach, with a high of 2.98 inches in one Ormond Beach location, the Weather Service said.
The sudden downpour was causing minor flooding in some areas, and an additional one to two inches of rain was possible. The flood advisory was set to expire at 7 p.m.
Rain also is in the forecast through Friday. Daily high temperatures are forecast to continue warming, with a high in the low 80s on Friday.
By Saturday, however temperatures will plunge and overnight lows on Saturday and Sunday will drop back into the low 40s, the Weather Service said. The forecast high on Sunday is 56.
