A coroner says a man shot following a confrontation with police in a church parking lot over the weekend died of multiple gunshot wounds.
The York County coroner's office said following an autopsy Monday that the death of 27-year-old Gregory Stough early Saturday outside Stillmeadow Church of Nazarene in Manchester had been ruled a homicide.
Officials said, however, that the legal definition may differ or be "found to be justified in some cases."
Police said a Northern York County Regional Police officer spotted the car and learned that the New Oxford resident was wanted on traffic warrants.
Authorities say Stough tried to drive away in reverse with the driver's door open, trapping one officer between the door and the vehicle, then drove toward another officer who had opened fire.
