The Guinness Storehouse has managed to maintain the top spot in Ireland as number one international visitor attraction by surpassing all previous records.
In 2017 around 1,711,281 guests passing through its doors and since its opening to the public in 2000, the Guinness Storehouse has welcomed almost 18 million visitors.
A number of key markets like USA , France and along with new and developing markets like China and Australia Guinness Storehouse experienced growth.
Ireland’s most important economic sectors is tourism and plays a significant role in its economic renewal.
It brings an overseas earnings of €6.6 billion contributing to the overall tourism sector and supports 225,000 jobs.
It was noted that the overseas visitors to the Guinness Storehouse spend an average of €134 a day on other services and experiences outside of the Guinness Storehouse.
It also supports an additional 8,907 jobs.
Guinness Storehouse is also a significant direct employer located in the heart of Dublin city.
It employs 320 full-time staff and 62 seasonal workers.
Paul Carty, managing director of the Guinness Storehouse, said that last year was another incredibly successful year for the Guinness Storehouse. More than 1.7 million visitors were welcomed and an announcement details of a €16 million expansion plan will see the iconic Gravity Bar double in size.
