We provide strategic and tactical global medical communications services to the pharmaceutical industry. We’re part of Springer Healthcare, a leading global provider of clinical publications, scientific communications, and medical education.

We’re looking for a dynamic Account Manager, keen to take on this diverse role as part of our expanding operation in the UK, working with some of the biggest names in the pharmaceutical industry.

You’ll enjoy managing a variety of project types within a supportive, team-focused environment. You‘ll be involved in delivering and managing projects from inception to completion, working with external and internal customers and outsourced vendors including medical writers, designers, printers, translators and digital service providers.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering real variety on a day-to-day basis, including event activity and projects across a variety of communication channels. You‘ll work with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation and will be joining a collaborative team who actively share ideas and work in partnership with our clients. As this is a key role, you‘ll need to demonstrate an outgoing and communicative approach to project management and be willing to engage with other colleagues in order to build effective internal relationships.

Responsibilities
Manage a large portfolio of projects across client accounts including financial management for each project
Build and sustain long-term influential business relationships with client teams
Provide commercial direction to account teams, delivering organic business growth for designated accounts
Develop and maintain awareness and understanding of the client’s market, product profile, competitors and trends
Demonstrate knowledge of market and therapeutic area when interacting with client and internal teams
Develop and mentor junior colleagues
In conjunction with the Business Development Manager, Senior Account Manager, Account Director and/or Client Services Director, capitalize on new business opportunities with both current clients and others
Provide accurate monthly and yearly sales and revenue forecasts
Develop direct reports and less experienced colleagues to reach full potential both personally and for the benefit of the business
With input from the Senior Account Manager, Account Director or Client Services Director, plan resource requirements of the account team(s) in advance so that adequate resource is in place to meet client demands

Experience, skills and qualifications
Essential
Solid previous relevant experience in a healthcare communications agency or similar
Excellent communication style and pro-active approach to supporting clients and colleagues
Ability to build strong, effective relationships

Desirable
Educated to a degree level (desired, but not essential)…
