BBC Breakfast viewers stunned as Dan Walker makes HUGE Game of Thrones gaffe

DAN WALKER made a big blunder on BBC Breakfast this morning and Game of Thrones fans were not happy.

The presenter was discussing the announcement of the BAFTA nominees with co-host Louise Minchin when he committed the error.

The award nominations were declared by Game of Thrones actress Natalie Dormer, who Dan referred to as playing “Margaery Targaryen” in the series.

As any fan of the fantasy epic knows, Natalie, 35, played Margaery Tyrell before the character’s untimely demise in the sixth season.

Those watching the show were quick to notice Dan’s mistake and turned to Twitter to take the 40-year-old to task.

“@BBCBreakfast Natalie Dormer was not Marjory Targaryon who does not exist but Marjory Tyrell and arguably by marriage Marjory Barratheon,” one corrected.

While another viewer made a blunt distinction between the two characters: “@BBCBreakfast Marjory Tyrell and Daenerys Targaryen.”

Although, it appears Dan did eventually acknowledge his mistake in a reply to one viewer.

“Did you just say Margaery Targaryen? @BBCBreakfast @mrdanwalker,” to which Dan retorted on the social network, “Is she a Tyrell?”

HBO bosses confirmed last week that Game of Thrones will be returning to screens at some point in 2019.

However, a definite launch date for the eighth and final season is yet to be revealed.

BBC Breakfast airs weekdays at 6am on BBC One.
