OSNABURG TWP. A home was severely damaged during a fire that started late Tuesday morning.

Township Fire Department personnel responded shortly before 11 a.m. Tuesday to the blaze at 1583 Neimans Ave. SE. As of mid-afternoon, firefighters remained at the scene. Chief Rick Shearer was not available for comment on the fire.

The house is owned by Gerald and Lana White Jr., according to Stark County real estate records.

"We assisted a husband and wife with direct-client assistance," said Tim Reichel, disaster program manager for the local American Red Cross chapter. "It is basically finances for immediate necessities. No lodging assistance was given because the couple had a place to stay tonight with family. From viewing it, it was a total loss."
