Investigator Scientist – Neurobiology
Salary Range £30,464 – £33,305 per annum

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral scientist position in the laboratory of Dr William Schafer at the MRC LMB, Cambridge to work within a programme aimed at understanding the biology of mechanosensitive proteins. Specifically to undertake research to investigate the molecular components of mechanotransduction complexes in C. elegans and their mammalian homologues. Key approaches will include C. elegans genetics and molecular biology, generation of transgenic nematodes, and electrophysiology and biochemistry of mammalian cells expressing mechanosensory proteins.
The ideal candidate will possess a background in C. elegans molecular genetics and combination of skills in electrophysiology, biochemistry and in vivo neuroimaging.
Successful applicants will be awarded an Investigator Scientist post with an end date of 30th June 2019.
